One Youth Global has officially launched the first edition of the Tertiary Debate League (TDL) — a campus-based debate championship designed exclusively for students of tertiary institutions in Ebonyi State.
Unlike traditional debates, the TDL is powered by the One Youth Debate Model — a dynamic format that blends structured debate with role-play simulation. In this model, participants take on the roles of real-world stakeholders such as presidents, diplomats, civil society leaders, and policy-makers. They debate, negotiate, and problem-solve from these perspectives, making the experience practical, engaging, and transformative.
The journey began with the Virtual Preliminaries, which kicked off on Saturday, 30th August 2025, and will run until Friday, 5th September 2025.
These online sessions bring together Ebonyi’s brightest minds in a series of challenging debates, allowing students to prove their skill, intellect, and leadership potential. At the end of the preliminaries, the winning speakers will break into the Grand Finale, where they will compete live for the ultimate prize.
This maiden edition comes with cash prizes worth ₦1.1 million:
🏆 ₦500,000 — 1st Place
🥈 ₦300,000 — 2nd Place
🥉 ₦200,000 — 3rd Place
✨ ₦100,000 — 4th Place
